The full scientific name of this great museum is "Museum of the History of the Study and Incorporation of the European Part of the Russian Far North". Its various exhibits therefore mainly present the different waves of colonization and exploration that led to the establishment of Russian sovereignty on the Arctic coast. The rooms devoted to the history of the Sami and the first Russian settlers Pomors are not to be missed!
