The superb Art Nouveau manor house that the merchant Kourline had built for his wife in 1902, and in which they lived until the civil war of 1918. Alexandra Kourlina never returned to Samara and died at the age of almost 100 in a communal apartment in central Moscow. Today it is a beautiful museum, dedicated to the incredible modernist heritage of Samara. The interior has been preserved in its original state, including furniture made by the Frenchman Louis Majorelle.
