The Schuka is a charming little hotel in a stunning Art Nouveau building in the city centre, in a pretty little street just a stone's throw from the Kremlin and pleasant walks along the banks of the Volga. It is tastefully decorated and is very welcoming, European standards and friendly staff.
On the ground floor is the restaurant of the same name, which is probably the best fish restaurant in Astrakhan! Moreover, Schuka is the Russian name for the pike, which is fished in the Volga, and whose eggs are also eaten as caviar.
