KOSTROMA SLOBODA
A stone's throw from the monastery, we find ourselves transported into the Russian countryside. It is in fact an open-air museum on the wooden architecture of the region. It has been dismantled and rebuilt a group of old country buildings (some dating back to the 17th century) from all over the place, which gives a charming and also very interesting exhibition due to the variation of local styles. The whole is very well documented and we recommend a guided tour to get the most out of your time there (easily 1h30, 2h).
