55,000 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, works by Rokotov, Lysenko, Kramskoi, Repin, Levitan and the primitivist painter Yefim Chestniakov. Michel Romanov lived here for five months with his mother, who had become a nun, and it was here that he learned of his appointment. Throughout the visit you will feel a renewed interest but also tenderness for this imperial family. Today, the paintings and photographs of the daily life of the czar and his family seem very moving.
