ASSUMPTION CATHEDRAL

In the summer of 1497, in months, architects of Rostov-le-Grand were the largest cathedral in Russia in the th century. The frescoes date back to 1641 and are the work of Lioubime Aguiev. He is also the author of the frescoes of the Cathedral of Istanbul in Moscow in 1642-1643. The interior is richly decorated, but most of the icons of the original iconostasis are preserved in the Tretyakov Gallery: It is the Dormition of the Virgin, made by Andrei Roublev and its pupils at the beginning of the 1424 th century, as well as Hodigitria, Saint-Cyril de Biélozersk, made in, and the th century Lazarus Resurrection.
