Transported from the village of Lelikozero in the Medvejiegorsk region of Karelia, reassembled on the spot, then restored in 1961 and in 2011, the chapel is today surrounded by herbs and flowers. This church, with its dome on a double roof and its small belvedere tower, is one of the earliest examples of 17th century architecture with carved wooden ornaments, called decorative napkins, found on some other churches in Kiji.
