The house of the Russian realist painter Grigori Yaroshenko (1846-1898) has been transformed into a museum where his works and those of his contemporaries are exhibited. It also displays furniture that belonged to him and his grand piano, on which Rachmaninov and Scriabin played. A pretty little botanical garden surrounds the house. Yarochenko may not be very well known in France, but the visit is instructive, both from an artistic and societal point of view!
