IGLESIA DE SAN ROMÁN
Church with a pointed portal and a beautiful Romanesque facade in Cirauqui preserving its fortress appearance
The church of San Román, whose style embodies fairly well the transition period between late Romanesque and early Gothic, was probably built in the early thirteenth century. In spite of the many changes it has undergone in the course of its history, the church retains its fortress-like appearance. Today, one can linger in front of its beautiful 13th-century Romanesque façade, with a pointed portal and poly-lobed arches of Mozarabic influence: the motifs represented are rich and varied. A singular halt.
