IGLESIA DE SANTA CATALINA DE ALEJANDRÍA
Church of medieval origin in Cirauqui with an interesting primitive gothic portal framed by 7 archivolts
More modest than the church of San Román, Santa Catalina de Alejandría is a building of medieval origin, probably built between the 13th and 14th centuries and then enlarged in the 16th century. It preserves an interesting early Gothic portal framed by seven archivolts. There are biblical scenes such as the Annunciation and the Massacre of the Innocents, but the most interesting element is on the left side of the portal: the figure of St John the Baptist.
