CONSTITORIAL HOUSE
Beautiful building, in classical architecture, clean in the Casas Constitoriales, (city hotels), located at the end of San Juan Harri Square, whose project was carried out by Felipe Crame, commanding Engineer of San Sebastián (San Sebastian). The first stone was laid on 27 August 1756 under the reign of Ferdinand VI. The inhabitants of Irún had been for fourteen long years in trial with Fontarrabie before they could obtain the permit to build the Casa Constitorial, Irún did not have permission to build stone buildings, because that would have harmed the development of Fontarrabie, a strategic and fortified point. The building was inaugurated on 1 January 1763 by Charles III, which can be seen in the medallion on the lintel on the main door. On the ground floor, a porch with five entrance arcades inside the building and inside, a large carved wooden staircase built in 1903 on the occasion of the celebration of the Basque feasts (fiestas fiestas) replaced the original staircase. And in the different rooms they are paintings of national and Basque painters who display themselves.
