PALACIO D' URBANIBIA (PALACE OF URBANIBIA)
Go there and contact
It was built in 1612 by an Italian architect at the request of Sebastián de Urbanibia, at the very place where a strong house existed. This Renaissance style building has a large stone façade with two coats of arms, one of which is the Aranzate house. On this score one can see a burning tower, which commemorates the victory of the troops of Gipuzkoa on French troops in 1476. Indeed, during the battle, the French took refuge in the tower of Aranzate and the owner of the tower, Pedro de Urbanibia, threw the fire, thereby killing 300 enemy soldiers. Next to the palace, declared the historic monument of the province, we must see the forge and the mill.
