MUSEO OIASSO
Museum dedicated to the city of Oiasso that exhibits permanent collections and offers the visit of the hermitage of Santa Elena in Irún
Right next to the Gothic church of Nuestra Señora del Juncal, this museum is dedicated to the Roman city of Oiasso, on which the present-day town of Irún was founded. In addition to its permanent collections, you can visit the hermitage of Santa Elena (10 minutes on foot), which contains the ancient necropolis of Oiasso. The entrance ticket also includes a visit to the site of Irugurutzeta, which conserves the largest battery of calcination kilns used in the exploitation of iron carbonate in Gipuzkoa. It can be reached by a small train from the museum!
