CHURCH OF SANTA MARÍA DE LA ASUNCIÓN Y DEL MANZANO
Church with naves, apse and ribbed vault, with a view of the bay of Txingudi from the viewpoint
Since its consecration by the bishop of Bayonne in 1549, it has witnessed important ceremonies, including the wedding by proxy of Louis XIV and Marie-Thérèse of Austria in 1660. It has three naves, each with an apse. Note the superb ribbed vaulting that dominates the choir. On either side of the main door, the two shells used as stoup were brought from the Philippines by sailors. From the top of the mirador, admirable view of the bay of Txingudi.
