Old town founded in 1320 that preserves the medieval layout of its origins in Errenteria
The old town of Errenteria, founded in 1320, preserves the medieval layout of its origins. The medieval Torrekua tower-house, which once protected one of the town's access gates, the Casa Consistorial (Town Hall), a 17th-century Renaissance building, the Nuestra Señora de la Asunción church with its high altar with a neoclassical altarpiece (18th century), and the 16th-century Augustinian convent are some of the buildings you can see here. An architectural ensemble that tells the story of the city and bears witness to its importance in the Middle Ages.
