TAMBORRADA DE SAN SEBASTIÁN
Go there and contact
It's the patron saint's day of San Sebastián! For 24 hours, parades of Napoleonic soldiers and cooks playing drums.
Every year, the Tamborrada parodies the Napoleonic occupation of San Sebastian during the War of Independence (1808-1812). The celebration begins the evening before in the Plaza de la Constitución, where participants dressed in the costume of the Napoleonic army or disguised as cooks gather. At exactly midnight, the first drumbeats are heard to the rhythm of Raimundo Sarriegui's melodies, and will not stop until midnight the next day, 24 hours later!
