The scene of the great annual celebrations, the neoclassical square in the heart of the Parte Vieja in Donostia
At the heart of the Parte Vieja, this square is the setting for the great annual celebrations such as the Tamborrada (January 20) and the Santo Tomás festival (December 21). Its large central building, in neoclassical style, housed the town hall until the 1940s, before it moved to the old casino on the banks of La Concha. Notice the numbers on the balconies of the square; they were once used as grandstands, when bullfights were held in the square! Today, many pintxos bars are concentrated under its arcades.

Belle architecture, place très animée, et avec un peu de chance, vous passerez par-là le jour d'un concert ou d'une petite représentation associative.
Evitez toutefois de prendre le café à une des terrasses: vous le payeriez plus cher qu'à Paris! Plongez plutôt dans les ruelles sombres et étroites: elles sont pleines de surprises...
