Old town bounded by Mount Urgull, the river Urumea and the Bay of La Concha in Donostia
The Old Town is bounded by Mount Urgull, the river Urumea and the Bay of La Concha. The wall that surrounded it was demolished in 1863 to enlarge the city. The Plaza de la Constitución is in the centre. The numbers on the buildings around it date back to the time when the square was used as a bullring. Today, this is where San Sebastian's most important local festivals take place. The Old Town is home to two of the oldest churches in Donastia: the church of San Vicente (16th century) and the Basilica of Santa María (18th century)
