BASÍLICA ASUNCIÓN DE NUESTRA SEÑORA
Basilica classified as a National Monument located in the center of the village, a few steps from the beach
Built in the 15th century on the ruins of an earlier temple, this basilica, classified as a National Monument, is a fine example of the late Gothic style. Located in the centre of the village, a stone's throw from the beach, it is famous for its splendid Flemish Gothic altarpiece, one of the largest in Spain along with those of Toledo and Seville. Completed in 1514, this polychrome jewel covered with delicate gilding depicts, among other Gospel scenes, the Assumption of Mary.
