HERMITAGE OF SANTA CATALINA
A small chapel in transitional Gothic style with a remarkable Renaissance portico
Located on the peninsula of the same name, the hermitage of Santa Catalina dates from the 19th century. This small transitional Gothic style chapel preserves a remarkable Renaissance portico. Due to its strategic location on a promontory, it was for a long time the meeting place of the fishermen's brotherhood, as well as a place of quarantines during epidemics. Every year, on 25 November, the residents gather here to celebrate the festivities of Santa Catalina.
