The Zubizuri Bridge, "white bridge" in Basque, is a pedestrian bridge suspended 10 meters above the Nervión River, near the Guggenheim. Since its inauguration in 1997, the Zubizuri Bridge has become one of the symbols of Bilbao's transformation. His aerial design is by Santiago Calatrava, star architect and controversial author of Valencia's City of Arts and Sciences. The reason for this is its very slippery glass surface, which has caused many people in the city to fall on rainy days!
