CASA MONTERO
Modernist building built in 1904 by the French architect Jean Batiste Darroquy and the Spanish Luis Aladrén
Built in 1904 by the French architect Jean Batiste Darroquy (who also designed the Teatro Campos Elíseos) and the Spaniard Luis Aladrén (author of the Palacio de la Diputación), this modernist building is nicknamed "Casa Gaudí" because of its resemblance to some of the works of the Catalan architect. Its ornate façade, its plant motifs and the decorative richness of the balconies are in fact similar to Gaudí's work. Observe also its beautiful front door, the result of delicate wood and ironwork.
