ABANDO ESTACIÓN
Classical style train station in the city center on the old Spanish square, with a huge stained glass window of 15 meters wide
Also known as Estación del Norte (North Station), this classical-style station, located in the city centre on the former Plaza de España, was inaugurated in 1948. Its huge stained glass window, 15 metres wide and 10 metres high, was made in 1948 by Jesús Arrecubieta. Composed of more than 300 elements, it represents typical scenes of life in Basque society as well as emblematic places in Bilbao, such as the Basilica of Begoña. In the centre it has a clock and the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Spain.
