TEATRO ARRIAGA
Superb neo-baroque theater hosting theatrical performances, concerts and dance shows
Superb neobaroque style theatre, built in 1890 by the architect Joaquín de Rucoba (who also designed the town hall). Inspired by the Paris Opera, it is dedicated to the Basque composer Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga, nicknamed the "Spanish Mozart" because of his great talent (he composed his first opera at the age of 13 and died a few years later, at the age of 20, of tuberculosis). At present, it mainly hosts theatrical performances, concerts and dance shows. Its programming is always of high quality.
