ARKEOLOGI MUSEOA
Museum installed in the building of the old train station of Casco Viejo, exhibits many relics tracing the history of Vizcaya
Housed in the completely renovated and enlarged former Casco Viejo railway station building, the Archaeology Museum can be accessed via the Calle Prim elevator. Its two floors of exhibits trace the history of Vizcaya from prehistory to the Middle Ages, from Iron Age funerary stelae to Roman ceramics. The jewel in the museum's crown is the wreck ofUrbieta, a 12-metre-long Basque pinnace from the 15th century, which was discovered in 1998 in the Gernika ría.
