This ría, which offers an unequalled walk in Bizkaia, is formed at the mouth of the River Butrón. We follow the ría, dotted with small colourful boats, to reach the old port, a charming place where it is good to have a drink at nightfall. Along the way, the modern, 150-metre-long "new bridge" built by the architect Javier Manterola in 1991 stands out. The ría leads to a natural bay, where the beaches of Plentzia and Gorliz are formed. At the very end, the Petrified Dunes, of great geological value, stand out.
