MUSEO DE CIENCIAS NATURALES DE ÁLAVA
Natural science museum on 2 floors with a remarkable collection of amber fossils found in the province
This museum of natural sciences occupies the Torre de Doña Ochanda, an old defensive tower from the 16th century. On two floors, it exhibits important geological, botanical, mineralogical and zoological collections, and in particular a remarkable collection of fossil amber discovered in the province, dating from the Cretaceous period. The museum's scientific library is well stocked and there is no shortage of photographic material. An instructive stopover!
