STATION SNSM
Well protected in its imposing shelter on the octagonal roof, which opens on port or sea side thanks to a sound rotation system, the Goury rescue canoe, Mona Rigolet, is treated with respect and admiration. His volunteer crew is always ready to take the sea, regardless of weather. The number of his interventions and rescue is impressive. The traffic is dense here and, by entering, you can read the details of its exits on the wood panels attached to the wall. Au Danse is just 16 km away from the coast.
Close but difficult to access because jealously guarded by the remous of a very powerful current which we clearly see the foam on the sea: The Blanchard wave… which is accompanied by monstrous rocks with sharp spikes. There were shipwrecks here in dozens, including Vendémiaire. A stone cross at the end of the trail recalls the loss of this French submarine disappeared in June 1912 with twenty-seven men aboard.
