MUSEO BARJOLA
Museum of contemporary art on 3 floors presenting creations, still lifes and portraits from the 50s and 80s
In a small 17th century palace, whose chapel and façade, symbolic of Gijon's Baroque style, have been preserved, this Museum of Contemporary Art presents the work of the painter Juan Barjola, who was particularly well known as an expressionist artist. On three floors, you will discover his creations of the 50s and 80s, such as still lifes and portraits, some of which are devoted to bullfighting. On the ground floor, in the Chapel of the Trinity, temporary exhibitions are organized, generally dedicated to sculpture.
