PALACIO DE CAMPOSAGRADO
Baroque building with 2 symmetrical side towers and a rectangular main body
Located in the villa of Avilés, in the square of the same name, this baroque building currently houses the Asturias School of Arts. It was once part of the city wall and its north façade is noteworthy for its defensive aspect. Its southern façade is the most spectacular, with its two symmetrical side towers and its rectangular main body, dominated by a large family shield, supported by two armed tenants. It is attributed to the local architect, Francisco Menéndez Camina. Inside, the monumental stone staircase is the only outstanding feature.
