CATEDRAL DE SAN SALVADOR
Cathedral with a flamboyant gothic bell tower and a primitive chapel with precious relics
It is difficult not to succumb to its charm. The flamboyant gothic bell tower is a real piece of goldsmith's work. And, rarely, the whole thing is not oversized. Inside, the central nave leads straight to the great altarpiece, a masterpiece of the late Baroque. The Holy Chamber is the original chapel, built in the 9th century, where precious relics are kept. Two pieces of great interest: the Cross of the Angels and the Cross of Victory, inlaid with Roman cameos, enamels and gold, are the two highest symbols of the Asturian resistance.
