CPIE DU COTENTIN
The Permanent Center for Environmental Initiatives (CPIE) of the Cotentin was founded in 1985 and was awarded the CPIE label eight years later. It is an association that has about a hundred members and develops actions based on education, promotion and the development of sustainable development. In concrete terms, the CPIE du Cotentin carries out ecological management plans, inventories of fauna and flora, sets up discovery trails, and manages natural sites, including the Mathon national nature reserve. But the association also develops actions for the general public: young and old can be supervised during discovery outings or through the School of Plants (and the knowledge of these experts is worth all the existing pedagogies!). Finally, you can meet the members of the CPIE du Cotentin during events concerning the environment or sustainable development (organic festival...).
