GROTTE EL BUXU
Cave near the village of Cardes with carved figures and other zoomorphic figures
Near the village of Cardes, this cave is nestled in one of the limestone cliffs overlooking the Entrepeñes stream. Discovered in December 1916 by Cesareo Cardín, it is some 100 metres long, and at the bottom of it are carved figures, most of which are older than those in the Altamira caves (20,000 years B.C.). In particular, there is a small prehistoric horse(asturcón) and a remarkable Hispanic goat. There are also other zoomorphic figures such as deer, bison and even a deer, a rare design.
