The food was then good, and in good quantity but quite expensive, I guess because of the location (and be careful of the discretionary tips of 12,5% which is mandatory).
Then at the middle of our time there, they decided to leave the door open and did not want to close it so I had to finish my meal with my coat, the waiter didn't care about my request and seemed contemptuous.
During all of our time in Scotland we didn't experience this kind of behavior, which is a shame because the place could be great.
This place is not quite cheap, so you expect a mimum of service, space and time to enjoy your brunch but this won't be the place for it.
The Scottish breakfast blend of tea was also fantastic and they had oat milk to go with it.
We were waited on by a couple of different employees and they were all very lovely and friendly.
There is one shop for reservations and one for step-ins. I would recommend getting there earlier than 10am without a reservation
Just one slightly bad thing: please please change the oat milk. The one they use is really bad.
We didn't book so had to queue for about 15 minutes but you could tell that staff were doing their best to seat you as fast as possible. However once you were inside and eating, you never felt rushed or pushed to leave.
The food was great, every last piece of it, but the plating felt like a cheap gimmick. They used lunchboxes, which maybe someone thought it is a good idea, but unfortunately not great to eat out of, especially food that you need to cut up. I have seen some people use the lid as a plate, and place their food there instead of the metal lunchbox. Mine was taken away before I could do so.
All in all, food great for breakfast. There was a small queue in front (waiting for either of the restaurants - main or Little Larder - to clear for spaces), but I would recommend the main one more. At least the toilets are located in the main one, not in the small one. So going over to the other side to use these facilities felt like intrusion.
Il y a de trés bon scones et Granola :)
