The Mussel Inn is always a busy pedestrian street, and many tourists pass by the Mussel Inn. They're not wrong about coming here. Edinburgh locals also mingle, white-collar workers, couples or friends, in between shopping sessions... Faced with this incessant flow, the service, with its mussel and chips and seafood specialities, does not give up on its quality. We appreciate the great freshness and quality of the products, as well as the low prices and the quicky (lunchtime) and early (pre-theatre) menus. The atmosphere is always pleasant and relaxed.

Wow, what a great spot! The food here is so delicious, and the staff are super friendly too. Definitely worth coming back! Many thanks to our waitress Reya ????

Food was fabulous! The BEST mussels I’ve ever eaten. Had to eat here twice while in Edinburgh. Don’t miss this gem.

The best in Edinburgh, Anne spoke Spanish, and that made the difference. Thank you. Food was AMAZING

The food is quite OK. However some remarks:
- the restaurant lools like a cafeteria, extreme bright lights and cafeteria tables & chair
- presentation of Oysters was just sad.. small oysters, broken shells, no liquid in there and worst served on an stainless steel plate, not nicely on crushed ice.
- mussels were OK, seafood pasta OK.but little seafood in it
- Housewine (sauvignon) just terrible. Very cheap wine sold at premium price
- service needs to improve. Sufficient staff but clearly didnt want to work. Only reactive..
- price for drinks doesnt add up... over priced

Overall feels like a tourist trap.. go to Leith area for some real seafood in a nice ambience
