The restaurant's discreet entrance makes it a little hard to find, as if to keep it a secret. It's a wonderful place to dine on Scottish fish and seafood, suspended above a busy city thoroughfare. Loners can opt for a seat at the half-moon bar in the center of the space and follow the well-oiled service behind the scenes. Whatever you choose, chef Roy Brett's light, precise textures and effects are just like those of the great chefs.

Definitely a seafood place but a good variety of dishes and alternatives are available.

Came down last week for a pre-rugby game meal and was blown away with the quality of the food and atmosphere this place has to offer! The Scallops especially were the highlight, also massive shout out to the staff that were so hospitable and kind.

Once again another exceptional meal served by Roy and his team. Dined with friends before the Calcutta Cup match, the buffalo oysters and pork chops were sublime. Thank you also to the fabulous front of house team.

We arrived as they were opening in the evening, they have a great value set menu available until 1830 (only £29 for three course), two of us had the set menu and two of us had a la carte so we could try as many dishes as possible.
Everything we had was delicious, I especially enjoyed the Shellfish and Fish soup, served with cheese, a delicious rouille and crispy croutons.
Shetland Mussels were excellent, as was the Goan Monkfish curry (although I didn't like the dhal served with it)
Basque Cheesecake with Mandarin Jam was a nice surprise, I eat far too many of these in Spain and this was up there with the best of them.
Staff were friendly and service was excellent.
Will definitely return next time I'm in Edinburgh.
