The restaurant's discreet entrance makes it a little hard to find, as if to keep it a secret. It's a wonderful place to dine on Scottish fish and seafood, suspended above a busy city thoroughfare. Loners can opt for a seat at the half-moon bar in the center of the space and follow the well-oiled service behind the scenes. Whatever you choose, chef Roy Brett's light, precise textures and effects are just like those of the great chefs.

Visited the Ondine at the weekend whilst in Edinburgh. Food was superb and staff were excellent, would highly recommend the Oysters and Squid, absolutely stunning. Will definitely be heading back for more on my next visit.

Another amazing meal at Ondine. Great atmosphere, great service and fabulous food. The Buffalo Oysters were unbelievable. Can’t wait to go back.

Visited twice at the weekend both Friday and Saturday.
I had friends from England up for the Rugby on Saturday. They suggested Ondine.
Great I thought I love it there.
Oysters
Soup
Ham
Puddings
Squid tempura. With Vietnamese dipping sauce.
Buffalo oysters were to die for. Full meaty oysters.
Every thing was on point for both meals.
Staff very friendly and knowledgeable.

Like many others here - I also say for your own good do NOT eat any raw fish here. I got the worst food poisoning of my life eating just 6 oysters.

The Buffalo oysters are amazing and the Turbot was melt in the mouth.
Wine list was good and I stayed with what I know and ordered the NZ Sauv Blanc.
Will definitely return when in Edinburgh.
