Great for a quick bite! Tried this place after seeing it on Somebody Feed Phil and it's as good as Phil said. The pulled pork/hog roast is a blank canvas for you to add sauces, so go for something with lots of flavour like their homemade BBQ sauce (the meat is not BBQ flavoured by itself) or the sage stuffing and apple sauce. I got the 'Oink' size which looked small but was just right and filling.
I'd advise going to the cannongate branch instead of this one as it's got much more seating and was much less busy when I went. That said the queue goes down quickly because staff work very efficiently in spite of the queues/language barriers/ etc (Hats off to them!).
I recommend adding haggis and extra pork cracklings, they're great!

Came here to try the famous pork sandwich and after a 15 min wait finally got one .
Had the pork haggis and chilli cheese large
The pork was perfectly cooked and god bless the staff they had to work fast to get through the queues .
But overall the sandwich didnt live up to the hype but overall was ok

20min waiting time (around 12:40) for the oink buns but they really tasted good. No space for seating. Just eat outside and take a napkin. It might get messy. Had the oink with haggis and chili jam.

Muy recomendable, está muy rico. Nosotros pedimos el mediano y nos quedamos bien, si hay hambre mejor coger el grande. La salsa de manzana riquísima, le queda muy bien. Hay pan sin gluten.

Come to Oink for the experience. Spoiled by American barbecue, the pulled pork at Oink was just alright. It's a bit dry and bland, so you want the sauce they offer. But the experience of eating the hot sandwich while enjoying the sights on the Royal Mile was a joy. Kudos to the friendly staff. The long line outside in the cold moved rather fast and the staff always greet you with a warm smile.

We went to this place recently based on rave reviews. Four of us got sandwiches and none of us really liked them. They were so mushy. The bread, meat, sauce, and strange stuffing mix or haggis they put on it created a mushy mess. They really did not have a lot of flavor other than the strong sage from the stuffing and the chosen sauce. The staff was very helpful but the food was just not good, lacking flavor and the texture was unappetizing.

It is a good option for a quick bite. We got the medium size (oink), and it had a good portion of meat. But, it was a bit dry, and it had very little sauce.
The crackling on top of the sandwich was really good and it was worth getting extra ones (0.5 pounds extra).

We ordered two buns, one with haggis and one with sage and onion. With haggis is definitely the better choice as the sage and onion flavour is a bit tasteless. The pulled pork is nice but I’ve had better though. The service is very friendly and fast.

Fast service but unfortunately the oink did not meet my expectations. The pulled pork was cold and didn‘t have much flavor. But a very good snack.

Durante la mia esplorazione culinaria di Edimburgo, mi sono imbattuto in una gemma gastronomica chiamata Oink Victoria Street, un tempio dedicato agli amanti della porchetta e della carne di maiale. L'esperienza qui è stata indimenticabile, soprattutto per il panino con porchetta che ho avuto il piacere di gustare.
La porchetta, il piatto principale del locale, era squisita e ricca di sapore. La sua qualità e il gusto forte hanno reso ogni morso un'esperienza gustativa senza eguali. Abbiamo ordinato tre panini - due di dimensione media e uno grande - e la differenza tra le porzioni era notevolmente apprezzabile, rendendo l'opzione grande perfetta per i più affamati.
Nonostante la popolarità del locale, il servizio è stato incredibilmente veloce. Anche se spesso affollato, con una fila che testimonia la qualità dell'offerta, la nostra attesa è stata minima. Data la limitata possibilità di sedersi all'interno, abbiamo optato per consumare i nostri panini a Grassmarket, poco distante, un'esperienza che ha aggiunto un tocco di charme all'intero pasto.
La porchetta, come detto, era il vero protagonista del panino. Anche in presenza di altri ingredienti, il suo sapore rimaneva preminente, senza essere sovrastato, dimostrando la capacità del locale di bilanciare i sapori in modo eccellente. Tuttavia, un piccolo appunto va al pane: sebbene fosse di buona qualità, la sua consistenza troppo morbida, una volta imbevuta dai condimenti, ha ridotto leggermente il mio apprezzamento del panino. Un pane leggermente più croccante e crostato avrebbe sicuramente elevato ulteriormente l'esperienza.
Nonostante questo piccolo dettaglio, la visita a Oink Victoria Street rimane un must per chiunque visiti Edimburgo e desideri assaporare una porchetta di alta qualità, gustata in uno degli angoli più vivaci della città. Un'esperienza culinaria che raccomando vivamente a tutti, sia per la qualità del cibo che per l'efficienza del servizio.

A customisable hog roll, interesting sauces and prompt service - what more can you ask for! I loved my hog roll here, the pork was absolutely delicious. The chilli jam was very tasty and just right spicy. Got some sandwiches for takeaway too, which were equally good

Me and the wife grabbed 2 sandwiches after seeing it on ‘Somebody Feed Phil’. We both opted for the Oink (medium) and then chose different fillings and sauces. Burgers were REALLY good, however the venue itself is incredibly small and due to the queue going into the seating area it’s almost impossible to actually sit down. Would still absolutely recommend anyone go here. Pork was cooked perfectly and the crackling was sublime.

Came here full of excitement due to seeing it on rate my takeaway I opted for the sage and onion stuffing with bbq sauce. It was very bland and I could only really taste the sauce. Im gutted as I was expecting to be wowed by it but I wasn’t at all. However the staff were lovely and very helpful

On ne voit pas ça partout, et quand la faim arrive mais que le temps nous est compté (ou pas d’ailleurs), c’est une très bonne adresse ! Les menus sont consistants est assez bon marché, les sandwiches au porc sont très bons, et l’emplacement est idéal !

Chez Oink on déguste une galette remplie d'effiloché de porc délicieuse! Le porc vient de la région, on choisit sa sauce, très copieux.
We call this “Lechon” back home and boy am I glad to taste one here in Edinburgh! Brought me very good memories at home.
Their staff on shift today was amazing. Very gracious and informed me of the sizes of bread they’re offering.
The pork skin was very crunchy. Loved it!
