This is one of the flagship brands of Hostelling Scotland, the national association of youth hostels, which has hostels all over the country. It places great emphasis on comfort and families, unlike other addresses in the capital which focus mainly on partying. It can accommodate up to 271 people, in dormitories as well as private rooms of various sizes. There's also a café-bar on the first floor.

Great stay , right beside city center, lovely shopping center right beside it. Room was basic but clean and comfortable

Really nice staff, very helpful, the rooms are really clean and they have a pretty nice section of breakfast. Located right in the centre of Edinburgh so it is only a short tram ride to the shops or landmarks, definitely will be staying here in the future again :)

The Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel is a nice hostel that is very central in location (Given the name, lol) but the reception was lovely and we had a great room. It was a good place to have a rest after the hectic travelling and I liked that the rooms were of good value. There are a lot of places to visit that are nearby and it's great for public transport too!
