The Market Street Hotel's prime location, within walking distance of the castle and the Royal Mile, is just one of its many assets. Its 98 rooms and suites are modern and carefully decorated, even the Cozy rooms, which are the least spacious. The staff is friendly and attentive. The breakfast, at an additional cost, is tasty and made from regional products. In short, a beautiful address, which effectively links the city's heritage with its present, embodied by the New Town just north.

The bed was set up as twins pulled together and although thin mattresses they were surprisingly comfortable. The shower is okay with two heads and the air conditioner was nice and cold. The breakfast each morning was delicious and was a great way to start the day. The entire staff of the hotel were fantastic and a big shoutout to the concierge, Myles (or Miles) who went above and beyond in multiple ways to create a great Scotland stay. He was extremely helpful in multiple ways. Peter who greeted us in the lobby (I think he is technically the hotel handyman) and we ran into him multiple times during our visit was super kind and welcoming. The dining staff were efficient and very kind. While the hotel team was a highlight… we also enjoyed the location. Near the Royal Mile, train station, Scott Memorial, and much more.
