Just above Dean Village, B+B continues to build its reputation in Edinburgh. It combines history and modernism within its Victorian walls, built in 1883 for the owner of the daily newspaper Scotsman. He has since found a new future in the hotel business and business is going quite well. All 27 rooms are accessible by lift and have a shower or bathtub. Many also have local artwork. The lounge and its bookshop are absolutely outstanding and there is a bar for the residents. The reception is up to scratch!

The staff was very nice all the time, and breakfast was pretty good.
Negative: The elevator was out of order, and was kind of hard to leave with the suitcases.
