I had a great stay recently here, we had a room and it was very nice, big tv and comfy beds, desk for working and a small locker for your personal belongings so they are safe, the drain smelled a bit in the shower however nevertheless it was good. Water and tea and coffee bags and a few cards to send if ur on vacation etc, we were opposite the main road of the hotel so it was slightly noisy, and emergency services every 5 mins, the gym was great as if came with the stay and room service was available with a charge i had a pizza and it was great. Had breakfast in the morning with different set times so it is spread out and not overcrowded. I had the pancakes and it was good but the bacon was a bit fatty. But staff were very friendly and helpful! Always someone on hand if your lost or need help only thing Id say is the layout is more clear as got lost for a wee while in the lift to find the gym the rooms were very clean too. Slightly a bit stingy on the water and things that you’d need ie soap and water etc. But overall a fantastic stay and very friendly I wouldn’t say there was any staff that approached us that wasn’t friendly and helpful! Special thanks to the cleaners, all the restaurant staff only got Sara as a name and lady which i think was the leader or supervisor of the staff. And reception staff of course. Only thing is never said anything about the special occasion

The room, amenities, and location was great. The only disappointment was the reception team. Especially if you’re Bonvoy elite member, avoid this hotel as you’ll not received what you should have.

My mom & I loved our stay here! The hotel, rooms, and service was excellent. It’s in a good location for walkability to sites but is still quiet. We went with the club package and found it was worth it as you get breakfast and evening drinks and appetizers in a private lounge for a decent price.

Fantastic property in Edinburgh, great size rooms with full breakfast in M lounge. The hotel is in the heart of Edinburgh and has multiple restaurant options close by. Walkable to Edinburgh castle and Royal mile.

A bit pricy, you pay for luxury

A solid 4 for our stay over Easter weekend. The service was spot on in the hotel and restaurant, especially Molly at breakfast who was friendly, professional and efficient. The hotel is well ran and I particularly liked the accessibility of service via the app, should you need it. The marked down star represents a few points: the bathroom privacy (somewhat lacking with glass doors), the fittings in the room looking slightly worn (stained lamp shades, older TV with sound issues as examples - although we did only feed that back on check out) and the breakfast being slightly inconsistent (examples of ingredients/inclusions differing between days). Overall, great location and a great experience.

(Don't apply this rating to One Spa though - generally awful!)

The staff here is wonderful! Very warm and helpful, especially Adam at the concierge desk! He was super helpful and went out of his way to help us plan day trips. The lounge was really nice and we really enjoyed the canapés every day. Centrally located, it was a quick walk to the castle, train station, or a multitude of restaurants. My only complaint is the pool, especially when it comes to children using it. Kids are limited to one hour (0830-0930) in the morning and one hour (1600-1700) in the afternoon. It's absolutely ridiculous! Children on holiday could use a little more time than what is allotted to have some pool fun. Unfortunately, the issue with the pool will most likely result in us staying elsewhere during our next vacation in Scotland.

Is not 5 stars. Is an old hotel.. they offer coffee but not profesional like others hotels with lower price..I feel like 3 stars+ .. not 5..
if you want to take breakfast for 18,5 pounds, you need to go very early..if not you need to pay separately everything you take..
Our baby have 10 months. If you have little children this place is not for you! You can’t go to the pool only at 3 to 5 pm. You can’t go to Spa with the children and you can’t leave them alone to the room .
The pool water is very cold for me.. it was maybe 25 degrees. ????????

This hotel is very elegant and has a luxury feel. The spa is fun to take in. It has several options including saunas, stream rooms, and other experience spaces. The hot tub is in the paid portion with the spa. The pool and a small sauna are included with the hotel but everything else is extra. My biggest issue was the lack of privacy within the rooms. The bathrooms have glass doors and no sound blocking. It wasn't great to share the space, even with a spouse. You could hear everything. The rooms are sound proof from each other so you don't hear other guests. The stairs are available to use so you don't always have to take the elevator. The whole hotel had accessible entrances and it was accessible inside. I didn't see any parking options. The concierge staff was very helpful. They assisted with booking golf and taxis. They took our luggage to our room on arrival. It was a great experience.

First time we've stayed since the upgrade back in 2014 ish, really disappointed, the upgrade has turned what was a stunning interior, grand staircase in reception, real porcelain in the rooms, Cleopatra baths and other luxurious in the spa to a cheap version of everything, rooms are basic and cheap, who ever designed the supposed upgrades especially in the spa should go back to designing agriculture sheds, basically a 3 to 4 star experience at 6 star prices.

What was hoping to be a luxurious weekend stay was not much better than a Premier Inn.

What I will say is the breakfast was very good.

Attended the Sheraton for a works function. Lovely building in a great central location. All of the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Didn’t stay overnight, but food through out the days were of a high quality and plentiful.

We had a lovely stay here in a castle view room which felt really special although quite a bit more expensive for the view. The room was huge with a great layout, beds massive and very very comfy!! I think the decor could be updated but this may be my preference but is spotlessly clean! We had an issue with our first room with the heating not working so they kindly moved us to another castle view room however this one seemed slightly more dated it looked like they may be working through the rooms updating TVs etc as we ended up with an extremely old TV but this wouldn’t impact our stay but for a 5* hotel one would expect modern TVs and a more updated decor.
A highlight of mine was the ambient lighting that you could change the colour on with a click of a button - this is a very nice touch.
Staff are fabulous and extremely friendly and helpful. We did order room service for one drink unaware it is a £5 fee to use the service so we did end up paying £8 for a drink so just be aware as we weren’t. It is a big hotel with lots of rooms but it didn’t feel busy, there’s 3 lifts so you aren’t waiting long. Gym is adequate but nothing to shout about and the pool is a good size and nice to be able to use. We did also pay for the one spa access which was great we especially loved the hydro pool but with paying for this access is makes the room and experience very expensive and it didn’t quite reach the 5* standard in our opinion and although we did enjoy our time it wasn’t quite as luxury as we felt it should be at this price point. I hope this review helps!
