Newhaven Harbour is a small harbour cove located west of Leith Harbour. The picturesque complex of the former red-painted Victorian fishmonger's shop with its arcades and main entrance, topped by a pointed roof, is a must see. At the end of the jetty is a charming little white lighthouse dating from 1869 near which the inhabitants dare to cast their line. On the horizon is the structure of the Forth Railway Bridge. At 2,528 metres long, it is a major transport route between the north-east and south-east of the country.
