On the banks of the River Tweed, a few metres from England, Paxton House was built in 1758 to the designs of the Adam family, famous architects of the region. This grand house has since been regarded by many as the most beautiful Palladian villa in Britain and contains one of the most comprehensive collections of Chippendale furniture in the country. Further exploration can also be done by walking through the 32 hectares of gardens or having a hot drink in the on-site café.
