Very popular in the neighbourhood - it's even been an institution for over a century! -, the State Bar is a warm place whose circular bar invites conviviality and exchanges. Fairly aesthetic and well stocked with Scottish beers, it generally offers seven real ales, several of which change regularly. It has regularly been named Pub of the Year by CAMRA. Tuesday evenings are dedicated to live music and Saturdays to the Comedy club, in the basement room (paying). Some of the most famous actors have played here.
