Considered a pioneer of Romanticism, Robert Burns was a farmer and gardener for many years. He drew on this connection with nature and the land to write such renowned works as Ce n'est qu'un au revoir and Tam O'Shanter. The vast museum brings together some 5,000 objects linked to him, including manuscripts, portraits and personal effects. You can also visit the cottage where he was born on January 25, 1759, and where he spent the first seven years of his childhood.
