DUNDEE TRAVEL INFO
Dundee is a city in eastern Scotland, on the northern shore of Thay Bay. It has been the scene of many struggles between England and Scotland, resulting in several changes of hands over the years. Dundee was once home to Scotland's whaling fleet. The railway bridge that crosses the bay was opened in 1887 to replace the original version, which had collapsed in 1879. The latter had been built a year earlier and was, at the time, the longest bridge in the world. Tourists can visit Captain Scott's research vessel "Discovery", moored in the city's harbour, and the military frigate "Unicorn" in Victoria Wharf. They can also visit the Mills Observatory.
