Skara Brae dates back to 5000 years ago and is one of the best preserved prehistoric villages in Europe. Also visit Skaill House.
Skara Brae is one of the best preserved prehistoric villages in Europe. It was discovered after a storm in 1850 and has become a mecca of Orkney heritage. You can visit the remains of old houses, their stone beds and living rooms. A reproduction even allows you to see what they really looked like. Many objects were found here. The ticket also includes a visit to the nearby Skaill House, a 17th century manor house.
