The very first railway station in Russia. Inaugurated in a wooden building in 1837, it was rebuilt in 1851 in a modern style with yellow ochre tones and is well worth a visit. It hosted the very first imperial journey with Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin), and the first train from Moscow. Its rooms with refined architectural details were the setting for several great Russian films (Anna Karenin, Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson).
