PISHECHNAYA
Originally a Soviet canteen, nothing has changed here for years. Favourite places for generations of locals.
Established in 1958, it is one of Piter's most famous pyshki cafes (traditional round doughnuts with a hole in the center, similar to American donuts). The menu is simple and unchanging: doughnuts with lemonade or coffee with milk. No black coffee here, coffee is prepared with milk and sugar in a large pot that then fills the thermos while waiting for customers. Don't miss the real regulars of the establishment, the cats-mascots of Pyshechnaya that walk under your feet or warm the seats next to you.
